One of the racial feats of the the Balstade is that they have +1 AC due to hardened skin. This was some of the exploration into how I wanted to visualize it on Corta.

Corta's currently in an island nation, and her bulky cloak that protects her from the sands is unnecessary here. Instead she's replaced it with a reed-cloak, and her weapon with a flail.

Corta Toa of the Balstade

Corta Toa is a personal RP character created for a custom homebrew TT game and world called Echo Dawn. She's a Paladin-equivalent who comes from the desert, and is currently searching for her brother Touya Toa on the a series of islands.

While I worked with our DM Neil Savageau on most of these designs to make sure it worked for his in-world races, these are unofficial fan imagery of the Echo Dawn IP created for my own pleasure.
